Veterinary Technology
Veterinary Diagnostic Lab
We use diagnostic imaging technologies like electromagnetic radiation in our in-house lab. This allows us to produce highly detailed images of your pet's internal systems and structures.
At Oak Glen Animal Hospital we are able to use advanced tools to help you accurately diagnose your pet's medical issues, from blood tests to digital X-rays.
With our diagnostic imaging capabilities, we can efficiently produce accurate diagnostic information about your pet's condition and provide immediate treatment options.
In-House Lab & Veterinary Pharmacy in Yucaipa
We are able to perform tests and get results quickly from our in-house veterinary laboratory so we are able to diagnose your pet's symptoms and start treatment as soon as possible.
Our Yucaipa pet pharmacy is stocked with a range of prescription diets, medications and treatments, providing us with quick access to any medications your pet may require while they are in our care.
Our Diagnostic Services
Using the veterinary diagnostic lab housed in our hospital, we are proud to be able to offer all of our patients advanced and quick diagnostic testing to assess their health issues and create custom treatment plans.
- Radiography (Digital X-Rays)
Using a radiograph (digital X-ray), we can examine your pet's internal systems to reveal information that may be invisible from the outside.
Radiography is a painless, safe and non-invasive diagnostic procedure. Since it only uses low doses of radiation, even pregnant females and very young pets are able to safely undergo the procedure.
Radiographs can be used to evaluate the organs and bones of your pet, diagnose health conditions including broken bones, bladder stones, spinal cord disease and more.
- Ultrasound
Diagnostic imaging allows our team of veterinary professionals to use detailed images of your pet's internal systems and structures when evaluating their health.
Ultrasound imaging exposes part of the body to high-frequency sound waves to produce images of the body's insides.
Because ultrasound images are captured in real-time, you can see the structure and movement of your pet's internal organs, as well as blood flowing through the blood vessels.
We will be offering in-house ultrasound in our office soon.
- Bloodwork
At our Yucaipa veterinary hospital, we are able to run a wide variety of both common and specialized blood tests on your pet in order to determine your pet's health and diagnose their illnesses.
Some of the most common veterinary blood tests that we conduct are complete blood counts CBCs, heartworm, feline leukemia, and feline HIV testing, blood pressure tests and blood glucose level testing.
We offer in-house SNAP testing for FELV/FIV, CPL, HWT, Giardia, and Parvo.
- Urinalysis
Urinalysis is a key diagnostic test that provides your vet with essential insights into the physical and chemical properties of your pet's urine.
Urinalysis is primarily used to assess the health of your animal's kidneys and urinary tract system, but it can also be helpful in detecting issues in other organ systems and is important for diagnosing metabolic diseases such as diabetes.
This is a valuable diagnostic test for both healthy and sick animals and should be included in any comprehensive evaluation of your pet's overall health.
